What is this blog about, its goals, and a shout into the crowd
Hi there! This is Lucas.
I'm from Brazil, I have been coding for about 12 years and I'm currently working as a Staff SWE in digital banking solutions.
I don't often write blog posts (or write anything at all), but I'm going to change that. Recently I've feeling that I must start recording my thoughts and experiences in a more structured way.
As someone that worked with tech for a while now, I've a fair bit of opinions to share with the world.
That said, I'm not a fan of glorifying shit just because it's popular. And, I'm also not a fan of these SWE wannabes that only know how to record fancy videos about shit they don't know about.
When you think about it, the moment you reach a certain advanced level of knowledge in any area, you start to see how dumb some influencers are. Some people you used to follow and even idolize become dumb and irrelevant in your eyes.
With AI this has become even more pronounced. Misinformation, dumbed down content, slop, and other forms of untruthful content are being spread faster than ever before. Thus, I make a statement or rather a provocation to anyone reading this blog: AI is making the internet and specially software engineering worse.
My goal is to bring you content, with flaws made by a human, with biases acquired by a human, and with experiences lived by an actual human.
In this small corner of the internet, I hope to bring you tips and tricks to help you guys advance in your journey; how to become a better professional and acquire a certain mentality about software and how its made.
Heed my warning though, the content in this blog is bounded to be heavily biased and opinionated. What worked for me might not work for you as the tech field is always moving and flowing. My world views and opinions are constantly evolving, what I might say today might now be what I'll think of a topic tomorrow.
I'll make sure to always keep this evolution aparent, by coming back to topics I've already covered and reflecting on what I've learned.
